Operating entity
Benefitry is operated by Benefitry LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company. Throughout these terms, "Benefitry," "we," "our," and "us" refer to Benefitry LLC. For service of process or written legal notices, contact us at contact@benefitry.io.
Terms of service
By creating an account with Benefitry you agree to use the service for personal, informational purposes. You will not resell, scrape, or republish the data presented to you. You will not attempt to use Benefitry to misrepresent yourself to the VA or any third party.
Benefitry reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or attempt to abuse the free trial. We give you 30 days' notice of any material change to terms or pricing for existing subscribers.
Subscription auto-renews at the rate shown at signup until you cancel. If you cancel and resubscribe later, current rates apply.
Privacy policy
We collect only what we need to run the product: your email, account credentials, the profile data you enter (branch, rank, ZIP, rating, dependents), and standard product analytics events (page views, feature usage, session replay for UX debugging).
We also collect standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and session cookies used to keep you logged in.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we never share it with insurance companies, data brokers, or VA-claim-filing services. We do not run advertising tracking of any kind: there is no advertising pixel and no conversions API on this site, and we send nothing about you to advertisers. We share limited data with the service providers (sub-processors) listed below strictly to operate the product. If you sign up through a creator’s referral link, that creator can see your name, email, signup date, and subscription status in their partner dashboard.
AI assistant. When you use the AI assistant, the questions you type and relevant profile context (such as your branch, rating, dependents, and location) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), via the Vercel AI Gateway, solely to generate your answer. If you have connected a bank, your account balances, institution names, net worth, and recent cashflow are also sent to the AI provider so it can answer questions about your money. Anthropic processes this data under its commercial API terms, which do not use your inputs to train its models. We do not send your name, email, password, or payment information to the AI provider.
Our sub-processors:
- Vercel - hosting, edge network, and visitor analytics (Vercel Analytics + Speed Insights) for benefitry.io and app.benefitry.io. SOC 2 Type II; GDPR-compliant.
- Supabase - Postgres database + authentication. Data stored in US-East. SOC 2 Type II; HIPAA-eligible.
- Stripe - payment processing (cards, ACH). PCI-DSS Level 1. We never see your full card number.
- RevenueCat - iOS App Store IAP reconciliation. Receives Apple subscription receipts only (no card data); SOC 2 Type II.
- Plaid - optional bank-account connection that powers the financial dashboard (net worth, cashflow, and recurring-charge detection). Access is read-only and used only to retrieve account balances and transactions, and a summary of this data may be sent to our AI provider when you ask the assistant a money question (see the AI section above); we never move money. You choose which institutions to connect, the access tokens are encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect any institution at any time from the app. SOC 2 Type II. If you never connect a bank, no data is shared with Plaid.
- PostHog - product analytics (page views, click events, session replays of the app surface). Retained for 12 months then auto-purged. GDPR DPA on file.
- Resend - transactional and marketing email delivery. EU/US data-transfer SCCs; messages purged after 30 days.
- Anthropic via the Vercel AI Gateway - AI assistant. Your prompts and replies are processed only to generate your answer and are not used to train any model. They may be retained for a limited period for abuse and safety monitoring, then deleted.
Each sub-processor is bound by its own privacy terms providing protections equivalent to those described here. You can request export or deletion of your data at any time by emailing contact@benefitry.io.
Where session replay is used, it masks every form field you type into, including passwords and the profile details you enter (rating, ZIP, dependents, income), and replay is disabled entirely on mobile. Payment details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and are never seen by Benefitry or our analytics.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. You may also request deletion by emailing contact@benefitry.io; emailed requests are completed within 30 days.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas may have additional rights under state privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain processing of personal data. To exercise these rights, email contact@benefitry.io. We will respond within the timeframe required by your state law, typically 30 to 45 days.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Benefitry does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or any other commercial purpose. If you are a California resident and wish to formally exercise your right under the CCPA / CPRA to opt out (even though there is nothing to opt out of), email contact@benefitry.io with the subject line "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" and we will confirm your request in writing.
Benefitry is intended for users 18 and older. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We also do not knowingly collect data from users between 13 and 17, as the service is designed around military service records and adult benefits eligibility. If you believe a minor has created an account, email contact@benefitry.io and we will delete the account and all associated data within 5 business days.
38 U.S.C. § 5901 statement
Benefitry is informational software. It is not a VA claim representative, claims agent, attorney, or Veteran Service Organization (VSO). Benefitry does not file claims, prepare claim materials, draft nexus letters, or charge fees for representation in any VA matter.
For representation in a VA claim, contact a VA-accredited attorney, an accredited claims agent, or a VSO. A list of accredited representatives is maintained at va.gov/ogc/apps/accreditation.
Independence from the VA and DoD
Benefitry is privately owned commercial software and has no contractual, sub-contractual, or affiliate relationship with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any other federal, state, or local government agency.
Data you enter (profile, calculator inputs, conversation history with the AI assistant) is stored in our private database and is not transmitted to, written to, or made visible to the VA, DoD, or any government system. Benefitry is not a federal record system; user data is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552) or the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a). Your data is governed by our privacy policy above.
Information shown in the app is derived from publicly available .gov sources (VA.gov, DTMO BAH tables, state Department of Veterans Affairs sites, etc.) and from publicly published statutes and regulations. We cite sources alongside the figures we display so they can be independently verified.
Data accuracy
Every figure displayed in Benefitry is drawn from publicly available .gov sources, and we cite the source alongside the figure so you can verify it independently. Our rate and calculation data is version-controlled, so every change to a published rate is tracked and dated.
Calculations are estimates based on publicly available rates and the inputs you provide. Only the VA's official rating decision is binding. If you discover an incorrect figure, email contact@benefitry.io. We aim to correct verified errors within 48 hours. The first reporter of a verified, material error receives a free year of service (one credit per reporter).
Refund policy
Cancel anytime from your account page. Monthly subscriptions stop billing at the end of the current cycle, with no prorated refund on the partial month.
Annual subscriptions are eligible for a prorated refund if cancelled within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable but continue providing access through the paid term.
The 3-day free trial requires a card on file and auto-converts to your chosen plan. Cancel before day 3 and you will not be charged. A small number of early subscribers who signed up before 2026-05-18 retain a 7-day trial window on their existing subscriptions; the conversion date Stripe stored at signup is binding for each individual account.
